What is the difference between aeroponics and hydroponics?

Hydroponics & aeroponics both grow plants without the traditional growing medium of soil, however in hydroponics systems the roots are submerged in water. In aeroponic systems, roots are suspended in the air and exposed and sprayed with a mist containing water and nutrients, allowing plants to thrive with higher access to oxygen.

Warranty details

All plastic components (body, lid and base reservoir) are covered by a 5 year warranty. At the end of its life can be returned to us for recycling & turned into other products - it will never become landfill.

The pump is covered by a 2 year warranty

Is aeroponic produce organic?

To be considered ‘organic’, vegetables, herbs and fruits must be grown in a soil-based environment using a plant or an animal based fertiliser. As the Airgarden is soilless, it cannot be technically named ‘organic’, however plants grow without the use of any pesticides & herbicides, and no risk of contaminated soils, making it even cleaner than organic produce.

What is aeroponics?

The word ‘aeroponics’ is derived from two latin words meaning aero (air) and ponic (work), air at work. In other words, the whole plant, roots and all, are suspended in mid air! Aeroponics is the fastest method for growing plants.

What can I grow?

You can grow anything that is not a rooting vegetable eg - potatoes, pumpkins or that grows in a tree like apples, bananas or mangoes. Refer to this blog post for more details.

How much direct sunlight does Airgarden need?

We recommend a minimum of 4 hours direct sunlight per day. If you want to grow fruiting plants like tomatoes or cucumbers, 6 hours of direct sunlight is ideal.
